Hi Folks , welcome to the 34th Golspie Gala week, which means that over 100 Bonnie Golcspie Lassies have been Gala Queen or her attendents since 1974. This year the granddaughters of Annie, Margaret and Christine namely Kelly Melville, Carly Macbeath and Cheryl Macdonald fill the roles of Quenn & Attendents. The crowning takes place on Saturday 29th July at 7pm, by last year's Queen Lana Urquhart. The offical opening will be preformed by local businessman Michael Baddon, proprieter of Lindsay & Co. "The adward of the year" will this year go to the Golspie in Bloom Committee on behalf of the Golspie Comminity Council for the beautiful appearance they continue to give the village. The usual events of flower show, art exhibition, local arts and crafts display, hill race, car banger derby, wheelbarrow race, children's sports, car boot sale, pet show, music workshop, fancy dress, wheelbarrow race, massed pipe bandsetc. The wheelbarrow race ends at the car park at the rear of the Masonic Lodge where entertainment and drinks will be available. Trusting that the weather is fine we are sure that all visitors and ex-pats will have a memorable time with us.
